The experiment
I’ll be honest, I knew nothing about mixology. But I’d always been curious about crafting fancy drinks, and I wanted to test a bigger question… what can AI actually do for someone like me who wants to create and sell digital products?
This wasn’t just about making a cocktail book. It was about discovering whether my layered skill set in design, marketing, and systems management could combine with AI technology to fill the knowledge gaps and turn ideas into profitable reality.
Spoiler, it absolutely can.
The process: Strategy meets AI
Here’s how I did it:
Day 1: Content Creation
I used AI to help me develop cocktail recipes and content. But this wasn’t just about asking questions and copy-pasting answers. I leveraged my background in product design to create strategic prompts that would generate exactly what I needed. Then I organized everything into a spreadsheet, treating the data like any product development pipeline.
Day 2: Visual Development
The imagery came next. Using AI image generation tools and my design expertise, I created custom visuals for each cocktail. My years in creative services meant I knew exactly how to craft prompts that would deliver professional, cohesive results that matched my vision.
Day 3: Design and Assembly
This is where my technical skills came into play. I built dynamic layout templates in InDesign and used data merge to implement all the content efficiently. No manual copy-paste marathons. Just smart systems doing what they do best: scaling production while I focused on refining flow, hierarchy, and visual storytelling.
The result?
A publication-ready premium ebook, paperback and hard cover book that looks like it took weeks to produce.
What AI actually does and doesn't do
Let me be clear, AI didn’t “make” this book. I did.
What AI did was fill in the knowledge gaps. I didn’t need to become a master mixologist or spend years studying cocktail history. I didn’t need to hire a photographer or illustrator. AI became the collaborative partner that helped me execute on expertise I didn’t have.
But the strategy, the vision, the design thinking, the systems that made it scalable and efficient? That was all me. That’s what my background in design, development, ecommerce ecosystems, and operations brought to the table.
AI is the ultimate multiplier for people who already know how to build things.
Why this matters
If you have skills in design, marketing, operations, or creative services, you already have everything you need to create digital products. What’s been missing is either the specialized knowledge or the time to execute.
AI changes that equation.
You don’t need to be an expert in every domain anymore. You need to be an expert in your domain and know how to orchestrate the right tools to fill the rest.

What's next
MIXED: Creative cocktails that set the vibe is now available, and it’s already teaching me what works in the market. But more importantly, it proved that the barrier between “idea” and “published product” is smaller than ever.
This was my trial run. My proof of concept. And now I’m ready to scale.
